Changing the front speakers
Tools required; T30 Torx driver, philips driver, large flat screwdiver/trim
remover, small pick or electritions screwdriver, wire cutters, silicone sealant.
Parts required; Speaker mounting collars (13cm, 16.5cm or home made), sound
deadening material
- Lever out small reflector

- Undo 4 T30 screws

- Pull off tweeter cover

- Carefully lever of door panel starting at bottom, protect
door with tape (be carefull at the top
not to bend the lock pin)
- Undo 4 screws securing speaker & unplug

- Unclip tweeter & unplug (if being changed)

- If fitting 13cm speakers, fit 13cm pods using original screws
- If fitting 16.cm speakers, fit 16.5cm pods using lower 2
original screws
& drill 2 top mounts
- OR make your own mounts from MDF
- Apply sound deadening to door
- If just replacing lower speakers, fit new terminals to wires & attach new speakers.
If fitting a component set with crossovers, run factory speaker wire to
crossover input. Run new wires from crossover to speaker & tweeter.
- Fit new speaker (& crossover if required)

- Fit tweeter if being changed (double sided sticky or drill & angle)

- Refit door panel
