icelink Plus DIY |

Before your icelink plus arrives you can prepare by downloading the setup file & latest firmware Remove radio (see our DIY instructions) If the factory plug has a white 12 pin plug in the bottom, leave this in place. If it has a black 12 pin plug, remove it & push into new icelink radio plug Plug the factory plug into icelink socket. Ensure that no pins have pushed
back & that the plug goes fully home Plug the new plug into the stereo
Route the wire from the cradle & plug into icelink
Rebuild car You must now CONFIGURE THE ICELINKGo to http://install.dension.com
You will now see a list of stereo types
Click on 'save target as' & you will see this screen
You should now have a icon CarIf_BMW on your desktop
Open itunes & click on import
Go to the car switch the key & stereo on, select CarIf_BMW.mp3 on your ipod,
After a short time the ipod will say that your stereo type (BMW) has been selected, when this happens follow the on screen instructions to turn the key off then on & select CD changer on the stereo. Now you are ready to update the firmware UPDATING FIRMWARE. Latest is 2.04Go to http://install.dension.com
Click on download firmware Exe format
You should now have an icelink icon
Click install
Open itunes & import folder
You should now have hundreds of tunes by Update in itunes
Update your Ipod. Plug it into the icelink, turn on the stereo & select Changer Select disc 6 (button 6 on stereo)- the ipod display should become a menu, using track up/down (on stereo)move to highlight icelink setup then hold track up to select it, highlight update icelink then select by holding track up. The ipod should then say updating, this will take approx 5 minutes (do not touch the stereo until the firmware has finished updating) switch key off & on. |
